At St Mary’s School and College we value parents and carers as essential partners in the education of our pupils/students. It is therefore important that we keep parents and carers appraised of their child’s progress throughout the year as well as their learning goals and ensure there is opportunity for Parental/Carer engagement throughout the academic year.
We do this through a series of meetings, and reports at regular intervals during the course of the year. Please see schedule below:

Term 1 |
Meet the Teacher This event offers an opportunity for Parents/Carers early in the academic year to meet their child’s new teacher, staff team (including Therapy team) and see the classroom. |

Term 2 |
Pupil/Student Progress Report A report containing your child’s progress towards their individual end of year target in the core subjects. The targets are generated based on prior attainment and their baseline assessment at the start of the academic year. All targets are individually set for each child in each subject allowing for appropriate challenge for them in each of their subjects. |

Term 3 |
Parent/Carer Consultation evenings An opportunity to meet with your child teachers and therapy staff team to discuss your child’s progress as per their progress report received in term 2. Teachers will provide feedback on your child's academic performance, including their strengths and any areas in which they may need extra help. |

Term 4 |
Pupil/Student Progress Report A report containing your child’s progress towards their individual end of year target in the core subjects. Book Look This event offers an opportunity for Parents/Carers to see their child’s work have an informal discussion with your child’s teaching and therapy team and address any concerns rising from the Progress Report sent in Term 4. |

Term 6 |
Annual End of Year School Report This will be a more detailed annual school report that reports on progress and achievement made throughout the academic year. |
Please note in addition to the above your child will have an annual review, you will receive a detailed education and therapy report following this meeting. The date of this review will vary for each child depending on when their EHCP was issued.
