This term, we have been exploring the story The Lion King. We have looked at the different characters, how they are feeling and where the story is set.

In Humanities and Art, we have explored Africa as a continent and learnt about some of the countries within it, as well as the animals that live there. We have created African-inspired masks, explored patterns and experimented with warm, bold colours in our artwork. We have also learnt about Ancient Egypt, exploring its fascinating history, famous landmarks and the lives of the people who lived there.

In Science, we have been exploring different forces, with a particular focus on gravity and air resistance. We designed and created our own marble runs to investigate how gravity makes objects move. We also carried out an experiment outdoors using a plastic bag to explore the effects of air resistance.

We have also been developing our writing skills and strengthening our fine motor skills through a range of activities to help improve our control, coordination and pencil grip.

In R.E., we have learnt about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We have explored how and why it is celebrated, looking at some of the traditions and symbols associated with this special festival.
