Welcome to the Trustees of St Mary’s. Our role is to provide strategic leadership.
We have overall responsibility for the conduct of the School and for promoting high standards in the education and care of all pupils. We bring diverse skills to the governing team and have ambitious goals for the School and each pupil.

Interim Executive Board (IEB)
Richard Preece (Consultant Headteacher and Executive Headteacher/CEO TaSMAT)
Jenny Smith (Chair of Directors TaSMAT)
Jenny is an experienced retired Headteacher and was an Education Adviser in East Sussex . She has been associated with School Governance for many years and has been a Governor Trainer for East Sussex. Currently, she is Chair of Directors for Torfield and Saxon Mount Academy Trust.
Lindsey Diamond (Education Consultant)
Lindsey is an extremely experienced education practitioner. She has been a headteacher, executive headteacher, and lead OFSTED inspector.
In roles such as local authority adviser and academy trust director, Lindsey has significant experience of driving positive change in inadequate schools in order to achieve good and outstanding OFSTED judgements.
Lindsey has been a member of, and chaired, many IEBs across several local authorities. She is very much looking forward to working in partnership with St Mary’s.
Catherine Dooley (ESCC)
Catherine is a Senior Manager in the East Sussex School Improvement Team with lead responsibilities for safeguarding and assessment. She also has a strong background in special educational needs and has supported both mainstream and special schools to improve their practice.
Antony Julyan (ESCC)
Antony currently works for East Sussex County Council within Children’s Services as the Strategic Manager and Joint Children’s Commissioner for children and young people with special educational needs. Antony was originally a social worker and has over 25 years experience in managing and developing residential, educational and peripatetic services for children and young people.
Craig Pamphilon (Education Consultant)
Craig was previously the headteacher of a large, successful, East Sussex secondary school judged outstanding by OFSTED for 10 years of his headship. Since 2008 he has been the external education adviser to two, special school, multi academy trusts in East Sussex, one of which is TaSMAT. For some years he was the standards and management advisor to a group of secondary schools in Kent. He is at present the standards and management advisor for Brighton secondary schools.
