Having gained a degree in Natural Sciences at university, Catherine diverted into a career in management with Lloyds Bank and Sun Alliance, amongst others. She was involved in product development, business systems and risk analysis. After 10 years and following the birth of her two sons she retrained as a teacher and now enjoys teaching all aspects of Science to 8 -13 year olds.
Her nephew has been educated in special schools in Hertfordshire and has recently embarked on the challenges of independent living.
Catherine is a keen runner, off road cyclist, horse rider and bee keeper and is slowly learning the clarinet.
Catherine’s educational experience is very useful in her role as chair of the Children and Learning Committee.
