Sally has spent most of her working life in management in Sussex. With her husband she runs a butcher, delicatessen, pub and restaurant.
Sally has fought tirelessly for her son. This is a passion she follows for all students with special educational needs. Sally used all her skills to win a tribunal for her son to go to St Mary’s and she put the whole case together by herself.
Sally’s understanding of learning difficulties is also personal as her school years were difficult because of her severe dyslexia completely undiagnosed at the time. Her success in work has given the understanding that in the right environment you can succeed.
Sally’s experience of special needs and her commercial background make her ‘a go-to person’ for sound common sense advice. She helps run a social group for young adults with learning difficulties which she finds very rewarding to see them entering into normal activities.
Sally is a regular governor visitor to St Mary’s with a deep understanding of the school. She is a member of the Children & Learning committee and Resources committee and Vice Chair of the Governing Board.
