Governor

Simon has been involved with St Mary’s for 9 years as a parent. He is married with five children.

Simon's youngest son has speech and language difficulties and he has agenesis of the corpus callosum.  His son came to St Mary’s at primary level, having previously been at a Mainstream Primary School.

His professional background is as an Accountant working in Local Government and he is experienced in financial and management accounting, project accounting and most services, especially Housing.

This professional background does not mean Simon's concern is only over matters financial and this is why he is enjoying being on the Children and Learning Committee (with particular responsibility for data management) in addition to the Finance and Marketing Committee.

As a governor he see's his role is to monitor School performance; both Staff and Pupil performance. Simon became a governor out of a deep and genuine concern for the School, for the “Very Special Place”.

One of the areas Simon take's responsibility for is social media. He cannot discharge this without knowing what is happening. Please keep the Board informed!
