Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our latest St Mary's Newsletter.

Thank you to all parents/carers who completed the parents’ questionnaire last term,

  • 97% of parents/carers reported that their child is happy at St Mary’s.
  • 97% of parent/carers reported that their child feels safe at school.
  • 97% of parents/carers would recommend St Mary’s to other parents.

Your feedback is always welcome and helpful in continuing to improve our communications and partnership working.

This term saw our KS3 pupils having the opportunity to participate in a residential activity trip. The week provided a busy schedule of outdoor activities and 3 nights away from home. The pupils were amazing, they embraced the activities with confidence and resilience. The staff team were astonished by the pupils personal achievements and their behaviour throughout the trip, they retuned to school at the end of week suitably tired!

This term St Mary’s received our Ofsted Reports for both Education and Social Care (Residential). We feel the reports really capture the ethos of the school, our hardworking staff team and most importantly our wonderful young people who make St Mary’s what it is. The outcomes represent such significant improvement since the school was last inspected in February 2019, we are so proud of the achievement and how amazing the pupils were during the inspections.

Our Easter provision was a huge success and pupils enjoyed a range of exciting activities. We are delighted to share that we will also be offering provision for two week over the summer holidays, further details on this will be sent out shortly.

We are really excited by next term as it is packed full of events including; swimming galas, sports days, leavers prom, leavers assemblies and we are holding our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and 100 years of St Mary’s celebration day.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy half term and I look forward to welcoming pupils back to school on Tuesday 7th June (residential pupils the evening of Monday 6th June).
